Foods to Enjoy on the Candida Diet

Here are the foods that are to be avoided during the Candida diet. There are different stages of the diet, but in general, these foods should be avoided:

​

Sugar of all kinds: molasses, brown sugar, white refined sugar, honey, turbinado, corn syrup. 

​

Fruit: All fruit should be avoided on the diet. Green apples and berries can be added to the later stages of the diet.

​

Yeast/ Breads: This includes all breads made with flour, crackers, pastries, bagels, muffins.

​

Mushrooms of any kind.

​

Vinegar: Any type of vinegar. Depending on the source, apple cider vinegar is on the no list, whilst others suggest it's a great healing food. Use at your discretion.

​

Peanuts, peanut butter, pistachios and cashews.

​

Alcohol of any kind.

​

Cheese: Any cheese is not allowed on the Candida diet. Goat cheese can be added in later stages of the diet.

​

Caffeine.

​

Beans and other legumes

​

Starchy vegetables: potatoes, squash, carrots.

​

Dairy: milk, cheese, ice cream, cream.

​

Processed meats

​

​

Here are the foods that you can enjoy during the Candida diet. 

​

Non-starchy vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower (usually used as a substitute for potatoes in some dishes), garlic, cucumber, kale, spinach, lettuce, zucchini (used as a substitute for pasta).

​

Grains such as: Millet, quinoa, buckwheat

​

Meat: Chicken, eggs, turkey, salmon and other lean meats.

​

Fruits: Lemons, avocados, lime. In later stages berries and green apples can be eaten.

​

These dairy produts: kefir, non-sugar yogurt, ghee, butter

​

Herbal teas

​

Oils: Sesame, olive, flax and coconut.

​

Nuts to enjoy: almonds, walnuts, pecans and hazelnuts. Any nut with a high mold content should be avoided.

​
